PTIN Power Program: Empowering Tax Pros Without an EFIN!


This program was specially designed for tax professionals who are unable to obtain their EFIN (Electronic Filing Identification Number) through the IRS. We believe you shouldn’t miss out on a successful tax season just because of this hurdle — that’s why we created the PTIN Power Program!

With PTIN Power, you can continue to serve clients, file returns, and grow your business, all while benefiting from our low backend fees on bank products. This program empowers you to earn and thrive during tax season, without needing an EFIN.

How does the PTIN Power Program work?


As a member of the PTIN Power Program, you gain access to the industry’s #1 rated tax software and an efficient process for managing tax preparation, submission, and payment. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Collecting & Uploading Client Documents

Gather your client’s documents and upload them to the secure client portal through the tax software. Alternatively, your client can use the software’s mobile app to upload their documents.

2. Preparing the Tax Return

Use the tax software or mobile app to prepare your client’s return. After preparation, submit the last four digits of the client’s Social Security Number and their last name to the support hotline’s secure line. We process your request very quickly to avoid any delay with submissions for advances or refund.

3. Document & Compliance Check

A support representative will verify that all necessary documents are uploaded and ensure the return meets IRS regulations. Once verified, the return will be transmitted to the IRS.

4. Handling Payments

If the Client Pays Upfront A $25 transmission fee is applied. If the Client Chooses to Deduct Fees from Their Refund This makes them a “Bank Product” client. Their refund will be processed by our partner bank (TPG or EPS), ensuring that funds never go to a preparer’s personal or business account.

5. Disbursement Process

When the IRS funds the return, the partner bank’s clearinghouse account receives the funds. Any applicable fees for tax prep services, advances, etc., are deducted, and the remaining balance is sent to the client via their chosen method (check, direct deposit, or prepaid card). Timeline: Clients typically receive funds by the IRS-designated direct deposit date or sooner.

6. Weekly Payment to Tax Preparers

Each Monday, a payment sheet will be provided for you to verify clients and amounts funded. Upon verification and signature, your payment will be released. Payments are disbursed one week after the client is funded, and you can choose to receive them via Zelle, direct deposit, or a mailed cashier’s check.

Note: To avoid payment delays, ensure that all client documents are securely uploaded to the portal. Our program emphasizes accuracy and integrity, with each return prepared in compliance with IRS regulations under our EFIN.


Required Documents for Tax Preparation

To ensure compliance, the following documents must be uploaded:

* ID for Taxpayer & Spouse (if applicable): Government-issued photo ID.

*ID for Dependents: At least one of the following – Government-issued ID, benefits letter, Social Security card, birth certificate, or certified medical record.

*Income FormsW-2, 1099, 1098T entries: Form used for each entry.

*Schedule C (Self-Employment): One of the following – income/expense summary, five receipt entries, invoice, business license, or state business formation.

*Household Income: Complete a household income due diligence form.


Important:

No Fuel Credit filings are allowed, and repeated patterns of suspicious household income will lead to rejected submissions.
